Overview

FutureCare is looking for a passionate and innovative Corporate Director of Dining Services to lead and transform our approach to delivering high quality dining services in the skilled nursing center environment.  If you have innovative ideas, are adept at developing and implementing actionable and sustainable change, this job is for you.   Your primary focus will be on delivering on and achieving a high level of patient satisfaction and consistency in our dining experience at fifteen locations.  The ideal candidate will be an energetic self-starter who has a vision for how dining in a traditional institutional setting can be transformed in a sustainable manner to not only meet the nutritional needs of those we serve but to exceed their expectations and truly enhance their quality of life. The Corporate Director of Dining Services will serve in a leadership capacity and as a support resource to the facility-based Food Service Directors and will work closely with the corporate and field-based operations and clinical teams to ensure we are delivering nutritious and high-quality meals and an exceptional dining experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develops innovative food and nutrition programs to meet and exceed customer expectations and promote FutureCare as the preferred skilled nursing provider of choice
  • Communicates a vision and need for change that generates commitment to the process and provides resources to assist in implementing continuous improvement initiatives
  • Coordinates with the Corporate Director of Nutrition Services to maintain an effective Food and Nutrition program
  • Collaborates with facility Executive Directors to recruit, interview, hire and evaluate qualified Food Service Directors
  • Promotes the development of Food Service Directors and team members by implementing consistent standards and measurements for employee performance
  • Conducts audits both remotely and through on-site inspections to support compliance with regulatory guidelines and company policies, procedures and standards
  • Recommends and develops plans ofcorrection as necessary on a timely basis
  • Standardizes community purchasing, production, inventory systems, sanitation processes and safety
  • Develops working relationship with vendors to ensure compliance with organizational goals and contracts
  • Analyzes data to identify opportunities for improvement related to key indicators in food and nutrition services
  • Other duties and projects to optimize provision of Food and Nutrition services

Qualifications

  • Minimum of eight years of progressive experience in the restaurant, hospitality, or related food service industry with a minimum of five years in a leadership role
  • Bachelor's degree in food service management, hospitality or a business-related discipline strongly preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to connect and communicate effectively with associates of all levels
  • Multi-site, institutional dining experience preferred
  • Must be an engaging team builder with a track record of attracting and retaining talent
  • Strong technology skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and the ability to quickly master new software applications
  • A demonstrable record of effectively managing all purchasing, inventory and overall financial management aspects of food and beverage services
  • Expert understanding of federal, state, and local regulations related to food service and safety.
  • Experience with enterprise wide process improvement, project management, and/or creation and execution of standards
  • Although the position is based in Baltimore you must have the ability to travel locally to all 15 FutureCare locations.
  • Experience with efficient kitchen layout, workflow and staff scheduling
  • Ability to compile, analyze and synthesize data from a variety of sources and to apply your business acumen to resolve complex issues.
  • Ability to work independently and organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong customer orientation to serving the elderly.

Other Desirable qualifications for this role include:

  • An inspirational leadership style coupled with a strong business acumen and solid culinary skills
  • An ability to identify new opportunities and develop creative solutions to core challenges
  • Certified Dietary Manager credential preferred
