Overview

At FutureCare our Resident Transporter (GNA) are part of our frontline health care team and they play a pivotal role in the care and support for our residents. Under the direction of the Nurse Supervisor, the Resident Transporter (GNA) are responsible for transporting our residents throughout the facility via wheelchair or stretcher in a timely and courteous manner.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with the nurse manager regarding daily problems, concerns and issues dealing with resident’s behavior
  • Reports any malfunctioning equipment and observed hazards to the nursing department
  • Perform a variety of other support services as needed
  • Abide by the standards identified in FutureCare’s Statement of Corporate Ethics and the Corporate Compliance Plan

Qualifications

  • Must hold a current certification and GNA license in Maryland
  • Must possess a positive and professional attitude
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
  • Previous experience working in an a skilled nursing facility a plus
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to remain calm and patient when dealing with residents
  • Ability to show empathy and compassion while interacting with residents to increase their comfort level
  • Current CPR Certification
