Overview

At FutureCare our Geriatric Nursing Assistant/Activities Assistant provide a high level of support and positive customer service to our residents. Under the direction of the Activities Director, the Geriatric Nursing Assistant will be responsible for assisting residents during day field trips and during activity events within the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Document and communicate all resident interactions, concerns and issues with Activities Director
  • Perform ADL's on residents
  • Assist residents with toileting, onboarding and off boarding the transportation vehicle
  • Assist residents with meal feeding if necessary
  • Perform a variety of other support services as assigned with residents throug the acttivities department
  • Abide by the standards identified in FutureCare’s Statement of Corporate Ethics and the Corporate Compliance Plan

Qualifications

  • Must hold a current certification and GNA license in Maryland
  • Must possess a positive and professional attitude 
  • Previous experience working as an Activities Assistant highly desirable
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
  • Previous experience working in an a skilled nursing facility a plus
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to remain calm and patient when dealing with residents
  • Ability to show empathy and compassion while interacting with residents to increase their comfort level
  • Current CPR Certification
