Overview

At FutureCare, our Assistant Manager of Medicare Billing is dedicated to ensuring all necessary requirements are met so that the facility will be paid for services rendered.  The Assistant Manager will assist the Billing Manager with the planning and coordination of the operations of the accounts receivable departments under direct control and assist with the operations of departments not under direct control.

***Competitive Pay $70k - 80k/yr***

 

Salary Disclosure Statement

The salary mentioned above reflects the potential base pay range for this role. Bonuses or other incentives (if applicable) are offered separately. Offers will consider such factors as overall experience, job-related qualifications, location, certifications/training, etc.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist with oversight of the Medicare Billing Specialists in identifying and prioritizing aspects of collections and monitoring for signs of problem areas.
  • Collaborate with Medicare Billing Manager to monitor and evaluate systems and their comparison to the company’s goals and standards. Create and implement electronic solutions as warranted.  Systems are to be approved by upper management including the CFO.
  • Assists the Billing Manager with development and revision of policies and procedures relating to the Medicare Accounts Receivable functions and collections.
  • Oversee the Accounts Receivable department in the absence of the Medicare Billing Manager and under the guidance of the Director of Corporate Patient Accounting.
  • Assists with staff oversight including hiring, training, and input for evaluations.
  • Communicates pertinent information and requests through established channels.
  • Assists Senior Management with reporting and special projects as needed.
  • Completes monthly billing cycle along side of the Medicare Billing Manager.
  • Reports A/R reserve information for the Medicare Billing Manager.
  • Assists with transmission of billing files.
  • Assists with completion of Medicare Billing Specialist job responsibilities (cash, imports, A/R review and follow-up, etc).
  • Approves and updates cash/transactions.
  • Abides by the standards identified in FutureCare’s Statement of Corporate Ethics and the Corporate Compliance Plan.
  • Attends live meetings as directed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must have 4 years’ experience in a healthcare related accounts receivable environment or 2 years’ experience and a 4-year degree
  • Supervisory experience
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with vendors, payors, staff, and management as necessary
  • Strong research, problem solving, and resolution abilities
