***Competitive Pay $51.00 - 62.25/hr!***

 

Salary Disclosure Statement

The salary mentioned above reflects the potential base pay range for this role. Bonuses or other incentives (if applicable) are offered separately and paid pursuant to the relevant program schedule. All employment offers will consider such factors as overall experience, job-related qualifications, location, certifications/training, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Sets and monitors achievement of goals and objectives for rehabilitation services consistent with the facility mission and philosophy, and standards of practice.
  • Ensures each rehabilitation team member is aware of the rehab goals and objectives and can identify his/her role in meeting these goals and objectives.
  • Utilizes the goals and objectives to monitor the function of the department.
  • Recruits and hires a sufficient number of qualified staff to deliver efficient patient care.
  • Assures that all staff receives sufficient orientation to enable them to competently assume their job responsibilities.
  • Schedules regular meetings with direct report staff to provide leadership, assure communication, and to facilitate the team approach to rehabilitation services.
  • Conducts and documents annual performance evaluations on each direct report staff.
  • Facilitates staff development and in-service education for all staff within the department.
  • Accesses continuing education opportunities appropriate to discipline and responsibilities.
  • Ensures all staff maintains current licensure.
  • Assists in establishing and adhering to an annual departmental budget and marketing plan.
  • Responsible for monitoring productivity and efficiency of the department and adjusting staffing, as necessary, to meeting productivity standards.
  • Prepares and submits reports to the Administrator and Corporate Staff on rehabilitation services, as required or appropriate.
  • Matches daily resident volumes and staffing needs making adjustments as necessary to provide quality, efficient rehabilitation care.
  • Ensures services of the rehabilitation department meet the ever-changing needs of the multiple customers of the rehabilitation department, including residents, families, physicians, managed care organizations and other internal customers. 
  • Establishes and maintains productive lines of communication between rehabilitation services and other facility departments/services.
  • Ensures members of the rehabilitation department participate as an integral part of the facility’s interdisciplinary care delivery team in planning for all facets of care for residents/patients. 
  • Ensures practice within the rehabilitation department meets established standards of practice.
  • Abides by the standards identified in FutureCare’s Stament of Corporate Ethics and the Corporate Compliance Plan.
  • Participates in audits to ensure documentation reflects services provided, needs of residents/patients, maximizes reimbursement and contributes to outcome measures.
  • Tracks clinical outcomes and works with the rehabilitation team to identify and implement continual improvement measures within the department and the facility.
  • Participates in marketing of rehabilitation services and the facility in everything that he/she does.
  • Maintains high visibility within the professional community.
  • Maintains and guides the implementation of current policies and procedures which reflect adherence to facility and external regulatory guidelines.
  • Assists in the preparation for, and participates in, regulatory compliance surveys.
  • Provides direct patient care as staffing patterns demand.
  • Attends and participates in rehabilitation team conferences concerning patient care planning.
  • Represents the rehabilitation team in the department head functions within the facility.
  • Attends and participates in facility meetings, as required.
  • Participates in facility program development activities.
  • Actively participates in facility’s quality improvement process.
  • Coordinates processing of denial claims with FutureCare Financial Department in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Reviews record when a denial is received or when there is a request for additional information.
  • Determines, in a timely manner, if documentation supports services rendered and if an appeal to the denial is warranted.  Notifies the Medicare specialist and the Vice President for Clinical Services when it is felt an appeal of the denial is not indicated.
  • If appeal is indicated participates in the preparation of documentation to support the appeal. Also participates in the case hearing, if indicated.
  • Tracks the rate and cause of denials and implements changes to reduce the number of denials.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy or at least a Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology.
  • Current PT, OT, or SLP license in the state of Maryland.**
  • Proven leadership ability with at least five (5) years of clinical experience,  with progressive administrative responsibility in long-term or subacute care rehabilitation preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local regulations pertaining to facility functions.
  • Knowledge of accreditation standards and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of, and ability to demonstrate, skills related to leadership, financial management, recruitment and retention of staff,  marketing, customer responsiveness, and supervision of the department functions within the facility.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
